The Reader Decides

Ok, I'm a bit bored. I wrote the blog about the chicken and the underwear, and then I rewrote the blog in (what I think was) a funnier fashion.

But what kind of posts do you guys like. Read them both, comment, and let me know which one you prefer.

My vote goes to the shorter one. It's nice how you tie the dead 'possum to the search for hookers. Maybe there's some meaning in that....

The "Eating Chicken In My Underwear" award would definitely go to the shorter hooker/'possum entry...

Airtime -- I just noticed your response to my MBA question.

Thanks for writing. We should talk.

We share an incredibly similar career path to nowhere, which is why I'm considering an MBA for the exact reasons as your.

I worked for an agency as a freelancer, and eventually got a full time job client side. I just couldn't get a genuine agency post because my freelance work wasn't what agencies were looking for.

My full time gig was as marketing dir. at a pretty visible company, and I did an enormous amount of work. But again: not 'agency quality."

My next gig was also client side, but after 9 mos. I couldn't stomach the place. With my employer as my first client, I started a freelance writing firm, which I still run.

The money is good when it shows up, but the work is dumb, tedious, frustrating, repetetive, and, in general, mind-numbingly unfulfilling. And, worst of all, will all the samples I've accumulated, still, they'll never get me a callback for agency work.

I've started a few side businesses, but lacking true business training, I feel unable to truly get them off the ground.

I'm thinking of an MBA, but I'm concerned that it's too much work for too little payoff. I'm still mulling.

What kind of jobs do you think an MBA in marketing can land? I'd love to hear your plan.
