Very Surprised
I was quite surprised when I found out this week that one of our authentic born-in-brooklyn former yeshiva guys who currently lives in Detroit has never smoked a cigarette. He claims he never had a single puff, which confirmed his innocence in smoking with his term puff.
Next he's going to tell me he never stole a car in his life...

You know, I don't know why you are so shocked. Why should this be so unusual? Could it be that the yeshivas you went to were not quite up to snuff? And what's wrong with puff?
Saadia
When I was in Yeshiva everyone called it a drag.
I find it surprising. Most, or at least many of the brooklyn people I went to Yeshiva with smoked at some point in their yeshiva career.
Drag: v. intr. To draw on a cigarette, pipe, or cigar.
Puff: An act of drawing in and expelling the breath, as in smoking tobacco.
So while both may mean the same thing in this context, "puff" can ALSO mean 'A short sudden gust of wind', in other words- a fart. So we stick with Drag to avoid confusion.
What would you say about someone who needs stereotyping other groups to form his own identity?
Brooklyn Yeshiva Guy = Smoker, Non Smoker = good boy, I don't smoke and I am not from brooklyn, I am therefore a good boy. mazel tov
why does being a nonsmoker make you a good boy?
I do belive that nowadays "puff" is usually a term reserved for smoking weed...
