In His Bat

Is it just me, or is anyone else amused that Palmeiro had more than Viagra in his bat.

Can you say 3000 hits, 500 HRs and no shot at Cooperstown.

He can sit on the side and call his dealer while Pete Rose calls his bookie. They should have loads of fun together.

Theoretically Pete played clean.

Theoretically he managed clean too.

Then again, since I am not going to read his book and I doubt he would come all the clean, I wonder how his pitching choices were affected by his betting choices.

I heard a niceconspiracy, that MLB held onto the results of his testing until after he got hit number 3000. Milestone numbers are good for baseball

Steroids don't make the man. They help an already great baseball player hit the ball farther.

Rob Parker, famed Detroit sports commentator, said last night on the radio that if steroid DID help people play baseball better, how come there aren't more 40 homerun hitters? Where are all the great stats?

Yishai -

Steroids turn ordinary fly balls into home runs. They can't help me catch a 90 MPH pitch, but if I could hit it 325 feet without juice, the juice might give it that extra push to get into the seats.
