Back and forth
This morning I received an email from a local grocery, informing the community of the unethical and illegal business practices their main competitor is engaged in.
I keep starting to post it, and then I stop, and then i decide to post it again, and then I decide not to.
Part of the problem is this store is a client of mine, and I have a personal rule about not blogging about a client. On the other hand, this is a message that they sent out, and want to message reaching as far as it can. So they wouldn't mind me posting it.
Even so, I am really uncomfortable posting the letter. But I think it would make for a great discussion on Jewish business practices.
Maybe I will just take out the names.

Question - Who are the Rabbonim that know about the letter? Why not ask YIOP's Rabbi?
YIOPs rabbi seems to be on the other side on this one.
I know they talked to a very respected rabbi in town who told them to send the letter. I dont know if he read it before they sent it though, or just told them they could send out this letter without reading the details.
But he was well aware of what had taken place, and the supplier in the letter agreed to talk to this rabbi.
Does YIOP's Rabbi give a reason for being on the other side?
He has never said publicly which side he is on, but he did insist on the siruv letter being hung up in YIOP, has not put the Kosher Case Club on the shul web site, and when asked how he can side with one stop and not be against Cafe One opening a block away from Jerusalem Pizza, he said that Cafe One is a different type of pizza store since they sell by the slice and Jerusalem does not.
That makes no sense because One stop doesn't sell by the case so what is the siruv for, Hey you got room in MOdiin? Get me out this crazy town!
The siruv, which is no longer in effect, was because Kosher Case Club was selling individual units instead of items by the case.
And there is always room in Moddin for more. Just not in our place.
I do want to qualify what i said about the YIOP rabbis position on this.
While it seemed from comments that he made a few months ago as to who he thought was right and who was wrong, his reaction to the email that went out this morning is basically this.
If her allegations are true, what do you expect her to do.
you are better off in detroit than modiin.
do not go!
