ROTFL

I share another blog with two friends. One of those friends had never seen the Roshei Teivot, "ROTFL".

I almost told him what it meant, but I want him to guess. Can anyone think of any combination of words that would go nicely in that pattern? Of course, all of OUR readers know what it really means in cyberspace, right?

Have fun, but keep it clean... That means you, Air!

everyone knows after reading something that makes you laugh you respond with

Really Orgasmic - Thanks For (the) Laugh

Is that clean enough?

my dearest veev,
it should be rAshei teivot.

if you are so intent on going 'home' you should try to get the language right...

And there is my friend (fiend), Anon, again. Feeling argumentative today? Forget to take your "happy pills?"
FYI, "Roshei" is Tov Me'Od, as is the work "Kol" to mean "all. Both have a Kamatz Gadol!

*sigh*
my dearest veev,
without going too into detail, here is how it goes.
from rosh [head], with a cholem, we go to rashei, with a kametz, which, as you moderns know, is pronounced ah.
no need for kametz gadol fancy footwork. especially since i dont think it is a kg. its not at all like kol [all].

this ignorance does not surprise me, since you are modern orthodox and traditional jewish knowledge rests with the ultras.

if you want to test my grammar acumen feel free to check with someone who has grammar credentials.
i await your second grammatical concession.

and no, i did not forget to take my happy pills. i am fully juiced...

mirty,

it comes from an old eskimo saying. It used to get so cold that there bellies would freeze when they jiggled out of laughter. The only way to warm them up was the furry seal liver oil. The Internet expression ROTFL is a take off of that expression it means something was very funny.

(why do I feel like I'm playing Balderdash?)

Anon - Why do you hate us so much? What did the "Modern World" do to you in your childhood? Share your feelings with the group!

thanks for the opening veev.
they beat up on the weaker Jews and why? because they live in their homes, so they beat them and kick them out.

dearest veev,
thank you for your invitation.
in short, it has very little to do with either my childhood or modern orthodox.
i stand opposed to complacency and triumphalism. i object to superciliousness and condecension. i call out inconsistencies and hypocrisies. phooey on phonies!
and none of this has to do with any particular style of orthodoxy, mind you. i just aim for brutal honesty. only then can true progess be made. but more on my own blog, and enough here.
